Below is a detailed account of each stage of the process of working with H20 designers.

Design Initialization
In order to provide the best in quality of design, H20 designers begin each project researching all pertinent design issues including site conditions, climate, construction schedules, and, most importantly, the client’s aesthetic desires and budget. The H20 designers will manage each project from conception through the construction process.

As aesthetic and site details are established, the design team begins to pursue options in accordance with the architectural scheme of the project. Because water features are artistic elements added to enhance the surroundings of any project location, the designers at H20 work with architects, engineers, and contractors to insure that the fountain achieves the client’s aesthetic visions. For more complicated projects, a scaled prototype may be developed.

Design Development
Once the conceptual and aesthetic designs are finalized, H20 Architects begin the developmental phase of the design process. The client receives a design detail package including system engineering, mechanical and electrical schematics, material details, and any prototype recommendations. The end of this stage, a cost estimate for the complete construction of the system, is delivered to the client for evaluation.

Project Engineering
After the finalization of the design development drawings and the cost evaluation has been reviewed and accepted by the client, the H20 Architect design team prepares the construction and bid document phase. This phase includes complete construction documents for all water feature related equipment and construction, and insures the equipment is properly utilized within the fountain layout. This stage is the defined end of the design phase, and the beginning of construction consultation.

Construction Coordination
During this phase of the project, the H20 project manager will visit the site as necessary to insure the correct installation and construction of the water feature. The H20 designer on the project supervises this critical stage. This phase constitutes site coordination, custom fabrication inspection, and consultation. The H20 designer will be on site during critical periods of construction. The types and quantities of these inspections are determined during the design initialization phase.

The completion of this phase of the project is signified by a complete inspection sign-off and start-up performed by the H20 designer in coordination with the contractor. Not until the feature is approved and accepted by our client are the design services completed for the H20 design team.
