269-Series Surface Skimmer
The HOBBS 269-Series Front Access Surface Skimmer is used to remove film and debris from the fountain’s water surface. An internal floating weir insures a good suction force at the water’s surface to move debris, which collects in the front-removable basket. This series of skimmers is similar to the #268-Series, but is smaller and is typically used only when the pool wall is too thin for proper installation of the #268-Series. The nominal required flow is 5 to 25 GPM. The skimmer has a 1-1/2" slip PVC pipe connection. A minimum 9" thick wall is required when casting the skimmer in concrete. In fountains with less than this wall thickness, skimmers and the necessary block-outs can often be selectively located to provide the additional wall thickness without disturbing the architectural intent.
