486-Series Combo Level Control Sensor/ Overflow
The HOBBS 486-Series Combo Water Level Control/ Overflow System serves the same basic function as the 484 Series Sensors, and also includes an overflow drain to waste connection.
When the water level drops, the Water Level Sensor and Monitor will signal the solenoid valve to open and refill the pool to the required level. If the solenoid valve is not notified and/or the water level continues to drop, the Low-Water Cut Off Sensor and Monitor will shut-off the electrical equipment. Both functions automatically return the controlled items to "normal" operating mode upon restoration of the proper water level. The system utilizes solid state monitors and non-corroding sensors with stainless steel probes, resulting in no moving parts that require adjustment or wear out. Both the level control and cutoff functions are combined into one pool-mounted sensor with two probes. These systems are normally provided as part of a pre-assembled and tested package, with the appropriate monitor(s), relays and breakers built into the HOBBS control panel for the fountain.
HOBBS offers two models of 486-Series Water Level Sensors: the 486-200 Water Level Sensors and the 486-F211 which is a combination sensor/overflow unit (for single level pools). Each sensor consists of a stainless steel housing and faceplate, nylon-isolated stainless steel probes, stainless steel fasteners and 50, 100 or 150 feet of cord.
The #486-F211 is designed to handle the overflow requirements for 350 sq. ft. of surface area. Pools with greater than 350 sq. ft. or if excessive rain, drainage, or runoff from upper levels may be encountered, additional HOBBS #253-Series Overflow Fittings should be included in the overall fountain design. When used indoors, the fountain fill line should be 1-1/2" or smaller so as not to overload the flow capacity of the overflow if the fountain fill is left on. |
